YALUMBA
VIOGNIER "Y SERIES" SOUTH AUSTRALIA 2002
This lesser known varietal is perfect for those looking to experience a white wine
beyond Chardonnay. It's floral nose is full of honeysuckle, orange blossom and apricot.
The palate is a rich, viscous mix of peaches and pineapple along with notes of spice and a
touch of lime. This wine is a perfect foil for our Honey Duck Lettuce Wraps.
$24 bottle or $6.25 glass
CATENA MALBEC
LUNLUNTA VINEYARDS MENDOZA 2000
This wine comes to us from Argentina and one of its finest winemakers. It's a pure and
hearty fruit-driven Malbec braced with minerals and brambly chocolate. Blackberries,
raspberries and sweet black cherries ride through the crisp acidity and rugged tannins
emerging on a finish that lingers on and on.
$46
TULOCAY ZINFANDEL
NAPA VALLEY 1999
Sourcing grapes from the Napa Valley sub-appellation of Chiles Valley, the as yet mostly
unrecognized Tulocay winery has created an exuberant Zinfandel, which greets the nose with
brambly black raspberries and liqueur-like aromas of ripe plums. On the palate, the wine
delivers pepper, anise and clove notes along with abundant jammy black fruit and blueberry
flavors that make it an ideal match for our Blue Cheese Crusted Beef Filet.
$44
TURNBULL CABERNET
SAUVIGNON "ESTATE GROWN" NAPA VALLEY 1999
This classically styled Cabernet comes to us from the Oakville district of Napa
Valley. On the rich and complex nose one detects black fruit aromas of plum, cherry and
currant that open up on the palate to reveal notes of cedar, anise and even a touch of
cocoa. Finishing long and smooth, one can't go wrong pairing this wine with grilled beef.
$78 bottle or $40 half bottle
GLORIA FERRER
ROYAL CUVÉE BRUT CARNEROS 1993
Now here's a California sparkler definitely in need of some recognition. This
wonderfully complex bubbly shows vanilla-scented black cherry, hazelnuts and citrus aromas
and flavors. Toast and pear also sneak out to flourish on the lively palate. Finishing dry
this Brut makes a lovely aperitif.
$40
JADE MOUNTAIN
"LES JUMEAUX" CALIFORNIA 1996
This singularly unique wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Mouvèdre.
"Les Jumeaux" or "The Twins" is a Californian homage to two of
France's most renown wine regions: Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley. Elegant and mature with
an elusive array of sleek cherries, ripe raspberries, cedar, spice and fresh roasted
coffee, this wine's light tannic structure makes it an ideal mate for our Grilled Atlantic
Salmon.
$46
CAVEAU DES
DISCIPLES CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2000
Here's quite a find for us: an elegantly styled and accessibly young Châteauneuf.
Dried red fruits define the nose. Toast, cinnamon and dried cherries define the palate
along with raspberries and a hint of cracked white pepper. This wines fine acidity makes
it an ideal match for food. Pair it with our Sautéed Veal Scallopine.
$32 bottle or $8.25 glass
CHATEAU STE.
MICHELLE-DR. LOOSEN "EROICA" RIESLING 2002
Hailing from Washington state's Columbia Valley, this zingy off-dry Riesling displays
bright apple, pineapple and apricot flavors that mingle with notes of mineral and lime. A
firm and focused, yet graceful finish leaves the palate begging for more. Try pairing this
wine with our spicy Seared Rare Tuna Appetizer.
$44
PEGASUS BAY PINOT
NOIR WAIPARA 2000
This New Zealand standout introduces itself with a beautiful bouquet of violets,
candied walnuts and smoky black cherries. It then treats you to a mouth coating mixture of
rich blackberries, bittersweet chocolate and cherry cream cola flavors gracefully accented
by a penetrating acidity. One of the best Pinots we've come across in quite some time.
$82
D'ARENBERG SHIRAZ
"THE FOOTBOLT" McLAREN VALE 2000
Right out of the gate this Australian Shiraz dazzles with a dense purple body. It then
races headlong leaving behind a perfume of blackberries, crushed violets and meaty black
pepper. On the palate ripe black plums, eucalyptus and more blackberries break from the
pack to finish strong before slowing down for a long, leisurely victor lap.
$38
FERRARI-CARANO
"SIENA" SONOMA COUNTY 1999
This Californian "Super Tuscan" is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon
and Malbec. The nose is quick and racy, displaying leather and dried cherry aromas. Take a
sip and you'll find bright, freshly picked raspberries and strawberries, a hint of mint
and a touch of vanilla scented oak. Experience Italy in Albuquerque and try this wine with
Seasons' Beef Carpaccio Appetizer.
$36 bottle or $9.25 glass
ROSEMOUNT
"TRADITIONAL" McLAREN VALE 2000
Although one of Rosemount's lesser-known bottlings, the "Traditional" has
garnered critics' recommendations for a long run of vintages. This big and beefy blend of
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot begins with a nose of charred black fruits and
licorice. A huge mouthful of blackberries, red plums, smoked meats and lingering tannins
then follows. This is definitely a steak lover's wine.
