Everything began when Sal Puga and his four brothers worked for Celia’s restaurant since 1972 to 1993. At this point Sal Puga and his brothers decided to leave the restaurant and to start their own business. Since Sal Puga and his brothers had acquired a great deal of experience running a restaurant they decided to open their own business in Dec 1993. Currently the restaurant Los Portales is very prosperous mainly dur to its kind clientele.

Executive Chef and owner Sallvador prepares and oversees what is executed from the kitchen.He opened Los Portales in 1986 with a history of fine dining experience from Mountain View. His vast knowledge is extensive with a variety of many different flavors.

Salvador had a vision of what he wanted “los Portales”to be, so he searched for a well-experienced culinary team to work beside, so he could learn and grow from each team members expertise. With a background in nutrition, the Los Portales culinary team can accommodate special requests and diets, while offering their knowledge for the creation of low fat dishes.

Salvador chose this specific location for “Los Portables” to be able to offer to his patrons a DownTown experience in the West End at reasonable price without compromising quality.
